Emile Buzaid

Fall 2025 Mayoral Candidate

Danbury is my lifelong home. As a third-generation resident, small business owner, seven-term City Councilman, and proud husband, father, and grandfather, I’ve dedicated my life to serving this city. From running our family businesses: the Buzaid School of Music, Buzaid Music Company, and Maxx Gun & Pawn, to working alongside Danbury’s mayors, I’ve always believed in giving back to the community that gave my family so much.

Over the past two years, I’ve been listening to the people of Danbury. What I’ve heard is clear: residents are disappointed in the direction our city is headed. In 2024, we saw an increase of 17% in violent crime, 45% in intimidation, 52% in thefts from motor vehicles, and 77% in vandalism.
Meanwhile, the current mayor increased spending $15,900,000 last year, and another $17,250,000 this year, while funding major infrastructure projects with bonding (credit). Families are facing the burden of these high costs, yet feel unsafe in the city we call home. Danbury deserves better.

That’s why I am running for Mayor with a clear plan to deliver what is
B.E.S.T. for Danbury:
• Business: Attract and retain businesses by cutting red tape and creating an environment where
innovation and commerce thrive.
• Education: Set excellence as the hallmark, not just the Budgets. I believe in quality education
without waste – directing funding into classrooms, not bureaucracy.
• Safety: More police on our streets and neighborhoods to enhance the effectiveness of our fine
men and women in uniform.
• Transportation: SMART GROWTH, including repair and design of roads and intersections to
accommodate the increased traffic.

But real change takes a team. That’s why I am proud to stand with the Republican candidates on this year’s ballot—men and women committed to safer neighborhoods, stronger schools, and improving our city’s infrastructure. Together, we can restore fiscal accountability, integrity, and community in Danbury’s City Hall. I believe Danbury’s BEST days are still ahead, and hope you do too.
